Donald C. Falgoust, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana
State University in Baton Rouge in 1989. He received his medical degree from
LSU Medical School in New Orleans in 1993. After an Internal Medicine
Internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland; Dr. Falgoust completed
Ophthalmology Residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, which included
extensive clinical training at John Hopkins Hospital. His specialized
training includes cataract and laser eye surgery, treatment of glaucoma,
macula degeneration, diabetic eye care, as well as preventative medicine
with routine eye exams for glasses and contact lenses.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of
Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists, Louisiana State Medical Society as well as
Calcasieu Parish Medical Society.
Dr. Falgoust is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. Not all Eye M.D.’s are
board certified. A board certified Ophthalmologist has passed a rigorous
two-part examination (oral and written) given by the American Board of
Ophthalmology designed to assess his/her knowledge, experience and skills.
